Cambria and Luzerne County Men Arrested for Child Pornography

HARRISBURG – Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane today announced the arrest of two Pennsylvania men on unrelated charges of child pornography.

The latest arrests occurred over the past week in Cambria and Luzerne Counties.

Bradley Parkins of Cambria County

Acting on a report from Microsoft Corporation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, agents from the Attorney General's Child Predator Section conducted an investigation into the online sharing of child pornography.

The investigation led to the home of Bradley Parkins, 39, 189 Hill Crest Drive, Ebensburg. OAG agents and the Ebensburg Police Department executed a search warrant on Wednesday, and located multiple media devices which were previewed by the Computer Forensics Unit.

A preliminary examination revealed numerous video files of child pornography. Agents also recovered 42 mixed prescription pills of Vicodin and OxyContin and a glass marijuana pipe.

Parkins was placed under arrest and charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, one count of criminal use of a communications facility, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of paraphernalia.

He was confined to the Cambria County Prison after failing to post bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 10.

Attorney General Kane thanked the Ebensburg Police Department for assisting with Parkins' arrest.

Parkins will be prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Courtney Butterfield of the Child Predator Section.

Anthony J. Bielut of Luzerne County

Anthony Bielut was arrested on Thursday following an undercover investigation into the dissemination of child pornography. Agents identified a computer on a peer-to-peer network sharing media files believed to depict child pornography. Bielut's Luzerne County residence was identified as the source.

Agents from the Office of Attorney General and the Wilkes-Barre Police Department executed a search warrant at 239 Poplar St., Wilkes-Barre. The defendant, Anthony Bielut, was present in the residence at the time the search warrant was executed.

During the search, agents from the OAG Computer Forensics Unit previewed Bielut's computer and found multiple images of child pornography.

Bielut is charged with one count of distribution of child pornography, six counts of possession of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communications facility.

He was confined to the Luzerne County Prison after failing to post bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 17.

Attorney General Kane thanked the Wilkes-Barre Police Department for assisting with Bielut's arrest.

Bielut will be prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Rebecca Elo of the Child Predator Section.

Reporting Child Predators

Suspected child predators can be reported to the Office of Attorney General by calling the Child Predator Hotline at 1-800-385-1044. Individuals who suspect an online predator or child sexual abuse can also send an anonymous tip to the office by texting PAKIDS + YOUR TIP to 847411.
